Easy Crock Pot Beef Stew (also Vegetarian Recipe)

We are getting our home ready to sell .. today my dad and hubby are busy putting in a new bathtub and Im painting so I wanted to make something quick and easy ... hearty, and ready to serve .. hence my Easy Crock pot beef stew choice.  My daughter and I are veggies so Im including a vegetarian version as well .. :)

Ingredients
1 Pound beef cubed (vegetarian Version use beef less tips)
1 packet of Lipton dry onion soup
2 Can Campbells Cream of Mushroom Soup
4 - 6 potatoes cut into cubes
4 Large Carrots
1 (8oz) can Tomato Sauce
1 (10oz) package frozen green peas (dont worry, they wont get mushy)
Veggie Beef ..

Put beef cubes on the bottom of the crock pot.  Layer carrots, potatoes & peas on top.

mix together cream of mushroom soup and tomato sauce

pour your mixture on top.  Cover and cook on low for 6 hours (I was in a rush so I knocked it up to high for hour 3 and 4 reducing cooking time to 4.5 hours)

finished!!  Smellls sooooo good!

I always feel like somebodys watching me ;)

Verdict .. as I always say ... Easy is good and this was easy!  Both versions of the stew, beef and vegetarian were AMAZING!!!   big thumbs up big YUM!!!

my pretty little thing of the day .. DIY beach glass mason Jars (a previous pin)  sooo whimsy

365 Days Of Pinterest Day 18 - DIY Pretty Lace Bowls

DIY Pretty Lace Bowls

Day 18 of my
365 Days of Pintetest I chose the pretty lace bowl pin ...

say Hello to my little friend ... Hope ... and my new nesting tables! :)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
~Doilies (I found mine and the local second hand store
~balloons
~ Glue ( I used Elmers & Aileens)
~ food coloring if you want to color them

First I dyed my doilie .. I love blue.  A few drops of food coloring and warm water will do .. pop the doilies in the dryer to set the color.

wear gloves :)

mix your glue and water.  I tweaked the original pin.  I used 3 TBS glue to 6 TSP water.

Dipity Do.  Soak your doilies in the glue solution real good.

Blow up your balloon to the desired bowl size and lay your doily on top.  I placed my balloon in a bowl for support.

pay attention to spread out the ends so you can see the pretty design.

now wait for your doilies to dry .. I actually waited 24 hours to be safe.

 POP!

wa laaa

I love seeing the details to each different doily .. like a snowflake

Verdict .. Fun, Easy and pretty.

I love the results!!  I also made the doily lantern wich was equally as fun and easy .. will blog that as well ..

365 Days of Pinterest Day 17 Baked French Toast with brown Sugar Sauce

Baked French Toast with Brown Sugar sauce ..... MMMMMMM!!

Day 17 of my 365 Days of Pinterest and its a Thumbs up to this pin ..
I tweaked the original recipe alot .. so read on ...

INGREDIENTS

1cup melted butter
2 cups of brown sugar
Texas Toast  or any thick bread (10 slices)
4 Eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp Vanilla
Powdered sugar for sprinkling

2 ~ 9 x 13 pans

pre heat oven at 350

Melt butter in microwave and add brown sugar .. mix

I discovered my ikea mixing bowl was not microwavable .. mehhh ... throw out mixture, begin again :)

Pour butter sugar mix into pans

spread

Beat Eggs Milk and Vanilla

.

Lay your bread in your pan ..  I cut them in sections like french toast sticks

Spoon your egg mixture on top of the bread.

Let sit for 1/2 hour so the bread can absorb the mixture.

Bake at 350 for 45 min or until bread is golden brown ..

sprinkle with powdered sugar if you'd like ..

WALLLAAAA!!!

enjoy :)

What I love about this is that all the french toast is done at once .. no standing at the stove forever flipping pieces and serving a few at a time .. pop em in the oven .. serve everyone at once .. eat .. enjoy

Verdict; LOVE this pin ... smells so good .. easy to make ..  I wouldn't say it really tasted like the french toast you make in a pan at all ... it is very sweet so taste before you add syrup .. I think the recipe would be perfect with some fresh fruit .. simmer strawberries with a bit of oj and sugar and make a nice warm fruit sauce ..
